What an office is usually trying to keep running
The shared drive on the server, Windows or Linux. The PCs and the Macs. The printer server that every desk prints through. Wireless that reaches the back room. A firewall. Microsoft mail or Gmail, and the files people open from home. A backup that has been restored on purpose, not a green check from last year.
That is the support list. Windows, Linux, and Mac. Servers and the machines that talk to them. Printer servers and the copiers. Switches, access points, and the firewall. VLANs when the guest network, the printers, or the register should not sit on the same lane as the server.
Firewalls
SonicWall, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and the rest of what gets bolted in the rack. We configure the one you already own. Same person for the rules, the VLANs, and the second internet line.
Servers
Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, Supermicro. Windows Server and Linux servers. Hyper-V and VMware. Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, Rocky, Alma, and SUSE. Synology and QNAP when the files live on a NAS instead of a tower.
Macs and the desks
Apple sits in the same care as the PCs. MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, next to Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Surface.
Switches and Wi-Fi
Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Ubiquiti, and the access points already on the ceiling.
Printers
Sharp, Brother, HP, Canon, and the other names on the front of a network copier. The queues live on a printer server, Windows or Linux with CUPS, so the PCs and the Macs share one place to print.
How the pieces fit
- Omega Total Care watches the computers, the server, and the day-to-day. Backup is its own service.
- Networks covers Wi-Fi, the firewall, a second internet line, and VLANs for staff, servers, printers, guests, and the register.
- Printers covers the queue, scan-to-email, and the drivers. Servers covers the shares and who can open them.
- Security is antivirus, EDR, ITDR on the logins, AI analysis on the email, and HIPAA adherence for a clinic. You get a person when something looks wrong. We do not stamp a certificate.
Cabling through the building is a different trade. Taking a PC apart on a bench is a different trade. The work here is the office: the server, the printers, the network, the mail, and the backup.
